Clerking

Every Governing Body must have a clerk. Clerks are more than just minute takers and are there to support your Governing Board in a range of ways including

  • managing your membership and vacancies (often in conjunction but not always with the Local Authority)
  • supporting the election of Chairs and Vice Chairs
  • offering advice on procedure and legislation
  • advising on note-taking

As a trained Clerk, Fiona can

  • offer mentoring and or coaching to you or your clerk
  • give advice on the quality assurance of minutes
  • help Governors manage meetings effectively
  • 'model' clerking
  • help you find a clerk

I was thrilled to reach the final of the NGA Outstanding Clerk of the year and to be one of 5 clerks invited to the House of Commons in September 2017; and in 2019 was clerk to governors to another finalist.

Testimonials

Genuinely, the most efficient, high quality set of minutes I have ever taken receipt of. Thank you for preparing such an accurate and organised account of the meeting (and so quickly!) CEO
